Whiterock has been designed for an active, outdoor lifestyle, with an extensive network of parks, trails and recreation spaces woven throughout the community.

The centrepiece of Whiterock recreation space will be the local sportsfields, courts and community clubhouse. Featuring full-sized playing fields, it’s designed, not only to give youngsters the chance to pursue their sporting dreams, but to also play host to senior district-level competition, community-based sports and social activities. Currently under construction and opening in 2027 the future sporting precinct will include:

Education is a key part of the Whiterock masterplan, with a future primary school and childcare centre planned within the community. The primary school is set to open for the 2028 school year*, providing families with a convenient, walkable education option close to home.
In the meantime, a range of established schools are already nearby, including Ripley Valley State School, Ripley Valley State Secondary College and Springfield Central State High School, along with several well-regarded private education options.

Adventure Playground.
Specially designed to reflect Whiterock’s natural surroundings, the Adventure Playground and water play area brings together play, imagination and exploration
At its centre is the distinctive Play Curl, a multi-level climbing structure inspired by the vein patterns of leaves. Its towers, bridges, ropes and climbing elements encourage children to move, explore and build confidence, while swings, slides, steppers and nature-based play features offer something for a wide range of ages.
Around the Play Curl, swings, slides, spinning equipment, rocks, steppers and a dry creek bed create a mix of traditional and nature-based play experiences. These elements are connected by landscaped pathways and a nature-play walk along the waterway corridor, encouraging children to move between active play, imaginative discovery and quieter areas at their own pace.
Since opening, the Adventure Playground has become a popular destination for families from Whiterock and across the wider Springfield region. Weekends are often filled with children playing, birthday celebrations, family picnics and informal community gatherings, bringing energy and activity to the heart of the community.
It also provides a natural setting for community celebrations, including Whiterock’s Winter Festival, bringing residents and visitors together through entertainment, activities and shared experiences.
